About This Blog
Hello and Welcome to I Love Old Recipes!
If you’re reading this, I guess you wonder who I am and what this is all about… Okay, here we go!
I am Anastasia; my friends and family call me Ana.
I live with my family and five cats (update: SIX CATS) in the wonderful Ol’ Deep South.
I am married to a true Southern gentleman who once got asked if he was from Australia due to his accent.
I was born and raised in Siberia.
I have always enjoyed cooking and eating good food.
I started cooking when I was 11 or 12 (and spoiled many, many ingredients along the way). I haven’t stopped cooking since then.
Good homemade food is about being honest, authentic, and loving. That is why I love old recipes.
I LOVE SOUTHERN FOOD!
I started collecting old recipes a few years ago in search for some dishes that were once common but got almost forgotten today.
I am a cookbook junkie who collects old, out-of-print editions, especially those featuring regional cuisines.
Three people in my family have gluten sensitivity from mild to severe. That is why I adapt the old recipes to be gluten free and mark them as such. I personally love me some gluten!
When I am not cooking, I enjoy gardening, painting and listening to Sinatra.
Thank you for stopping by and HAPPY COOKING!
Yours,
Ana
